what is operating System? Full explain.

One operating system is a collection of programs that handles many of the technical details related to computer usage.  An operating system is in many ways the most important type of computer program.  Without a working operating system, your computer will be useless.

Functions
Every computer has an operating system, and each operating system performs a variety of functions.

Mobile operating systems'
Mobile operating systems, also known as mobile OS, are a type of embedded operating system.  Just like other computer systems, smartphones, tablets, and wearable computers require an operating system.  These mobile operating systems are specially designed for less complex and more wireless communication.
Although there are countless mobile operating systems, some of the more popular are Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
  • Android launched in 2007.  It was originally developed by Android Inc. and later purchased by Google.  Android is widely used in many smartphones today.
  •  iOS, formerly known as iPhone OS, was developed by Apple in 2007.  It is based on Mac OS and is used as a platform for Apple's iPad and iPhone.
  • Windows Phone 8 was introduced by Microsoft in 2012 to support a variety of mobile devices, including smartphones.  In 2015, Microsoft replaced Windows Phone with a new mobile operating system, referred to as Windows 10 Mobile.  It has the ability to run many powerful programs designed for desktops and laptops.
In the previous case we saw that not all mobile applications run on all smartphones.  This is because an app is designed to run on a specific software platform or operating system.  Before downloading an app, make sure it is built into the mobile operating system on your mobile device.

Desktop Operating Systems
An operating system that controls the functioning of each personal computer.  Mack.  Unix and Linux.

Windows
Microsoft's Windows is the most widely used personal computer operating system.  Because of its large market share, more applications programs have been developed to run Windows than any other operating system.  Windows comes in a variety of versions and is designed to run with different types of word processors.  The most recent two versions are Windows 8 and Windows 10.
  • Windows 8 was released in 2012 and was built to better integrate with its mobile operating system and Microsoft's desktop operating system.  She supported gestures, cloud integration and apps.  Windows 8 also brought a new interface.  This interface is similar to Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Phone, and is a dramatic transformation from Microsoft's traditional Windows interface.  Windows 8 offers a start screen with tiles.  Each tile displays the active topic attached to an application.  The desktop is similar to the traditional Windows desktop and can be used in a variety of ways.  Windows RT is a version of Windows 8 designed for tablets that use a specific microprocessor from ARM.
  • Windows 10 was announced in 2015. It merges Windows' desktop and mobile operating systems.  Unlike previous versions of Windows, Windows 10 runs on all Windows devices, including desktops, tablets and smartphones.  This integration has brought many bile OS innovative ideas to the desktop OS, including Cortana, a digital assistant that can accept commands via text or speech, and Windows apps such as Office, which can run on desktops, tablets and smartphones.  Other innovative ideas include improved gaming with the Xbox gaming environment, a new web browser, and support for Microsoft HoloLens, an enhanced reality tool.
